The Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Department admits hospital patients who had surgical procedures and require intensive care and monitoring or patients with a life-threatening condition who require comprehensive monitoring of vital functions and aggressive treatment methods.
The Department consists of two high dependency rooms with 5 intensive care stations. There is also a separate room for patients who need to be isolated.
Within the operating theatre there is a 4-station anaesthetic recovery room which ensures the safety of patients in the immediate postoperative period in accordance with international standards.
- Consulting patients before planned operations
- Cooperation with appropriate departments on the preparation of patients to planned surgical and diagnostic procedures,
- Physicians perform general and local anaesthesia for elective and urgent surgical procedures.
- Administer anaesthesia for patients undergoing diagnostic procedures in the DCO
- Provide postoperative care for patients in accordance with current European standards
- They also provide sedation for children from the Haematology and Paediatric Oncology Clinic before teleradiotherapy procedure
- The department provides treatment for patients who underwent oncologic procedures and patients with life-threatening conditions
- Department offers 24-hour services related to resuscitation and consultation on severe cases.
- Also performs port implantation procedures
- Provides analgesic treatment for DCO patients
