Objective of the project:

The overall objective of the project is to reduce cancer mortality by improving the availability (reducing the diagnostics and radiotherapy wait times) and the quality of advanced radiotherapy medical services provided. The objective will be met through the purchase of the state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment (PET/CT) and a linear accelerator for radiotherapy use. The rooms where the new equipment is to be installed will be adapted accordingly. Medical and technical personnel will be trained.

Detailed objectives:

  • Diagnostics and radiotherapy treatment of cancer patients in the Lower Silesian voivodeship.
  • Promoting community awareness of cancer prevention in the Lower Silesian voivodeship.
  • Improving the availability of the state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and treatment.
  • Avoiding the adverse effects of irradiation due to obsolete equipment.
  • Improvement of the cancer therapy quality
  • Limiting the occurrence of co-morbidities or metastases by improving the availability to advanced diagnostics and treatment.
  • Dissemination of recognized standards of oncology treatment by promoting participation in cancer early detection programs.
  • Improvement of the quality of combined treatment.
